Pico2000 Card- Input Channel 2 Always Black And White??

Post by Maxxarcade »

I have one of the Pico2000/Imavision/TE104/Whatever cheapie cards from Ebay. I'm using one in my own DVR with black and white cameras and ZM 1.21.3 and love it. But I have a problem.

I'm using the same exact kind of card in another system, with 4 color cameras, to use at my workplace. But when I get everything set up, channel 2 on the card is always black and white regardless of using the RGB24 pallette setting in Zoneminder.

I've tried 2 different computers, and the card has color on all 4 channels when using the program that came with it for Windows, so I know the problem is with Zoneminder. Can anyone help? Channels 0, 1, and 3 work fine with color.

I just realized the problem is likely with the BTTV driver, and not Zoneminder. Seems getting a B/W picture on BT878 based cards is a common problem in Linux, but I can't figure out why it's only with one input and not all 4. I've tried setting the source in ZM to PAL and it just loses sync. Changing to anything other than RGB24 just corrupts the video.

I would expect tthat the card hasnt been properly recognised, you will probaly need tp force a card type, but your logs will tell you

Thanks, that fixed it. Ran into some sync issues, but after a restart it's working great so far.
