8 way bttv, linux, no images. memory not valid

I have this bttv 8 chan/8 chip card

I bought it off ebay so I am not sure of the model name, except it uses bttv 102

So it works in tvtime! so bttv and the card is setup ..But i get just the broken image square in zm.. heres my logs:

First I tried with gentoo and just ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge zoneminder
I am using ZM 1.22.0 here since that is what is in portage

I am using kernel 2.6.16.19 on a pentium III 1ghz with 512mb pc133 ram,

the memory errors are interesting .. I believe i has SHM enabled..

For the manual install I had to cp -a web/* /var/ww/localhost/htdocs/zoneminder/, and also edit the mysql_pconnect line to the mysql user/pass since zm dosent seemt to read /etc/zm.conf anymore.. but of course.. no steaming/stills from the cam in zm :([/code]

Might I suggest either using Fedora or Mandriva till you get used to linux or see if you might be able to find a howto for Debian to build from source. I see alot of things you have miss configured and to go through them would put me just short of making a howto.
I have never worked with portages either so would be no help there.
There are two custom distros you could use both available via the downloads page, The liveCD based on Mandriva and one on FC3 and soon to be one based on FC5 that will get you going right strait.
