more powerful X10

my ideas are not quite sorted by now... BUT i have a few ideas i'd like to share.
my girlfriend is complaining about cameras IN the house. she feels observed. even if the cameras are switched off. so here is the idea: use x10 to make the cameras inactive and watch the ceiling - when zoneminder is in "home" mode. when we leave, cameras will go into active modect by x10 and move to preset 1 or something to watch the rooms. i guess there are more reasons for something like this... i.e. watching the desk in the day and watch the windows in the night.
the other thing is that the x10 stuff is a little bit hidden. you have to click through all monitors to find out what the settings are. what about a simple table? rows are the x10 strings and colums are monitors. the fields show what happens to the monitor on the x10 string: "activation" or "input alarm". maybe there is something similar for output alarm strings.
ideas anyone?
cheers
