smal error if add new remote monitor

Post by piero »

Hi !
I have successfully upgrade ZM v1.21.3 to v1.22.2
Now if add new remote monitor ZM reporting little error:
Remote camera = videoserver IP9100A and user identification
Remote Host Name = user:password@ipcamera
If user or password or ipcamera including "-" (dash)
then ZM displayed error messages:
Host must be set to a valid address or hostname...
Unfortunately may address and user including "-"
this ist big problem now.
If so, how can I fix that?

YOu cannot use a '-' in a passwprd or user name like you cant use space and certain other charecters
Fix:-
remove the -

Passwprd or user name remove the -
Okey. I know,
change passwd or user name is not problem.
But ipcamera address must be including "-"
for example: abra-cadabra.com
I cannot change address or not use access via ip.

This will be changed in the next version. It is a simple mod to the code if anyone wants to do it on their system.

I'm waiting for next version.
Thanks Phil and James for your help.

I propose to simplify the problem with a remote IP camera:
It is possible to include, in the next version,
add parameters for a section remote IP camera:
Remote Host Name or IP: 192.168.1.104
Remote Host Port: 80
Remote Host Path: /Jpeg/CamImg.jpg
>>> User Login: mylogin
>>> User Password: mypassword

------
Thanks and sorry for my poor language. I little used english.

Actualy for the remote host name you can already spicify the IP address ie:
Remote Host Name: user: password@192.168.0.10
It does not have to be a url of name through DNS.

I have two place from aviosys videosever IP9100A connection on DSL.
I want connected into ZM server. Testing, testing and notwork :(
Local all camera to dvr card ist okey, remote not connect no over ip, no over address.
Of course, every source from videoserver fine working via browser even though dsl ist very slow 256Mb.
To hope that this option advance - gladly it's me make testing at once.

I would first of all set one of hese up on your lan to work with zm before moving to web, but if you can see it in browser, i would think one of the config settings for the monitor is wrong, a log snapshot would be useful

Well, it appeared to work fine in the first version i used 1.21.3, but now after upgrading, I cannot change the framerate, because of this error.

admin:P8$rE9z4@192.168.1.100

"host must be set to a valid ip, do not include http://"

Is this because of the $ in my password, being a 'non-standard' character. I just like the extra characters for making passwords harder to guess. Is there another workaround?
