hi folks,

is there any calculations formula for the no# of cams that a system can support?

eg: baseline specs, 2ghz cpu 512mb ram : supports 10 cams at 640*480@10fps etc?

no, and you can't really as there are so many variables. but if you were to say a 4800 x2 can do 150 fps at 320x240 then you can devide that into the number of cams. But 640x480 would need 4 fps of the 150 just to achieve 1fps.
Also network cams require more power then bttv connected cams
