Hi, I'm looking to setup some CCTV using an AXIS 212 and wondered 1). whether this will work with Zoneminder and 2). What linux distro would you recommend to use Zoneminder in conjunction with (I'm a real newbie with Linux)?
Any help would be much appreciated!

An axis will be great and i would recommend using either the live cd or ctu linux depending upon your hardware

Hey wesleyw, just wondering how it worked out for you with the Axis 212 ptz??
I have been experimenting with the Zoneminder livecd installed to hard drive and a couple of cheap analog cameras attached to a vcr connected to an old wintv card - works great btw! I am now wanting to move on to the real set up with some Axis cameras on an Athlon 64x2. I have been browsing the forums here for a couple of weeks gleaning many nuggets of wisdom from posters but haven't found much on the Axis 212 ptz which is what I am really interested in purchasing right now - if anyone has any guidance or info on it's useability with Zoneminder
Any thoughts appreciated,
