unable to generate Video files

I am running Zone Minder 1.21.4 and am unable to generate Videos. log (zmvideo.log) says:

ffmpeg seems to be broken.

Can you uninstall, purge, and re-install ffmpeg?

i second that that looks like an ffmpeg prob not a zm prob

I strongly recommend you use either ross's or coreys distros as these just work. Plus it will be asier to assist you

Can I directly upgrade from 1.21.4 to 1.22.2 by RPM? I downloaded the RPM from the site you gave in your Aug 25 posting , which is http://www.jpwilson.eu/zm-1.22.2-9_20060mdk.i586.rpm
(I am not a Linux expert; but can manage basic commands; would appreciate if you can give me any tips)

Ran the rpm ( from Ross's distro) and endedup with the following errors:

Then you must not be using Ross's Distro. What Linux Distro did you load???

The distrobution is CTU3-zm1.21.3-3.

I wonder if "yum update" is all that I need to do to upgrade!!

Oooops! It appears that the yum update wont work past 1.24.1

I am back to square one.

Can any one assist me in fixing my ffmpeg issue? Basically I need the re-install procedure please!

see coreys site for a 1.22.2 rpm for ctu. You cant use ross's one as thats for mandrake.
But Corey has released a 1.22.2 rpm that you can use, but yum update wont do it as Corey doesnt have 1.22.2 as stable yet
