I has been using Zonemonder for 3 week installed from the Mandriva 2006 Livecd. There has been problems but has solve most of them thanks to the information on this forum.
Now i want to assemble a computer to be a zoneminder server. I would like to install only what is needed to run zoneminder. It should handle 8 and maybe 16 cameras. I was wondering which Linux Distribution is more suitable for this kind of proyect?. Is there a list of which software i should install?

well its down to preference. The best supported here is either Coreys CTU zm built in Fedora Core 3 or the mandriva based distro in either live or non live versions. I prefer the non live mandriva 2006 one, but Coreys is fust as good but sets its paths out differently

If you are happy building from source then most distros should be fine. I develop on Fedora so that is probably best supported (by me) but you'll probably get a faster response to queries from Ross (LiveCD) or Corey (rpms) anyway!
