Frame Skip does not work well

Hello, guys
I've a problem with Frame Skip run mode.
I've an AXIS camera running at 20FPS y I want to Record continuously. This feature does disk load increase a lot. I know the solution: run with less FPS. However I thougth I could do it if I changed Frame Skip option from my monitor and FPS was kept.
Here is my problem: when I do that (Frame Skip=4, i.e), ZM create events with 3 seconds of length continuously (instead 600 seconds).
(if Frame Skip=0 and Section Length=600, all is OK)
Can anybody help me?? Thanks
