how do i make it delete old caps?

is there a way i can set an age for these caps to expire and be deleted?
Yes, you can create a filter so that:
any events that are not archived (protect any archived events)
and greater than 1 month
Then save it without enabling anything yet and check your results. Add any thing else you might want to be more spacific, save and check the results.
Once you have everything you want running and returning the events you want removed, select the filter and check the delete matching event, run in background, and save the filter.
