cameras not usable with authentication on

Hello,
Just installed and setup the new deb package! Thanks for that, Peter!
Anyhow, everything works fine, unless I turn on authentication. Once I do, none of my cameras work. I tried deleting and re-adding my cameras, and it's a no go.
I don't see where to place authentication in any of the monitor configuration windows. I'm using simple V4L cameras, /dev/video0 and so on.
Again, everything works perfectly until I turn authentication on. Any suggestions?

Have you restarted the zm services since making the change????
If so then I suggest you start here

Yes, I restarted many times. As for the FAQ and Manual, a search of "authentication" provided no joy before I posted. Searching google for the same on zoneminder.com's forum, didn't lead to anything either. :/
Anyhow, from my initial post, 1.22.3 and Debian.
Logs that I can see as relevant:
09/02/07 08:40:56.213893 zmdc[22273].WAR [Can't find process with command of 'zmc -d /dev/video0']
09/02/07 08:40:56.503400 zmdc[22273].INF ['zmc -d /dev/video0' starting at 07/02/09 08:40:56, pid = 9288]
09/02/07 08:40:56.624611 zmdc[22273].INF ['zmc -d /dev/video0' already running at 07/02/09 08:40:56, pid = 9288]
09/02/07 08:40:56.801586 zmdc[22273].WAR [Can't find process with command of 'zma -m 2']
Doesn't happen with auth off. Does with internal ZM auth on.
Any ideas?

I can confirm that this exact same problem is happening for me as well. Again, using Peters latest .deb package. Also seeing a very similar log behaviour.
I can confirm however that the cameras are picking up events and logging them, it seems to be exclusively a problem with web-streaming the live feed and logged events.

For some reason, the default is for ZM_AUTH_RELAY to be on, when it should be set to "none". This isn't covered anywhere I can see, so I'm not sure why it is even set to on.
Anyhow, turn that off, and you'll be fine. At least, I believe that this is the option I changed. If not, get back to me, and I can double check...
