More and Less expencive Camera's available with MPEG4 output

In today's market I find more and less expensive Camera's available with MPEG4 output.

I am trying to see how to get the MPEG4 camera's to interface with ZoneMinder. We have developed some threads of thinking.
  1. To get ZoneMinder to release and copy that implement it.
  2. To develop an ffmpeg routine to convert the MPEG4 Stream to JPEG images - overwriting the image constantly.
  3. To send the MPEG4 Stream through and Video 4 Linux virtual loopback deviceand recapture it as JPEG images
If anyone has done any of these above please post the solution here. I think it will help a lot of people

Me too

I would really love to know how to do this as I have a few MPEG4 cameras and they are the better ones of the cameras I have. The mJPeg ones I have are only suitable for indoors, so figuring out how to make MPEG4 cams work would be awesome!

I have some mpeg4 cameras I should get working as well. Would be very thankful for tips if you figured something out.
