mini itx motherboard with integrated bt878

Post by trendkill82 »

Hi guys, i just want to build a 4 camera surveillance system with web monitoring and recording. I checked this stuff:
http://www.microdigit.hu/lex/ci852.htm

they ships it with a 800 Mhz celeron-M CPU.

I want to use debian with raid1.
what do you think, is this HW enough for me?

thanks!

It will probably manage four cameras but not with high frame rates. Also if you are talking about software RAID then that will impact the processor.

ahhm yes... here is one bt878 chip. this can record 30 fps for 4 cams... so my big question is: can this CPU (with SW raid1) record 4 x 7.5 fps/cam? i hope... ;)

Is 5 or 6 fps per channel for 4 channels ambitious or comfortable on a 1.2ghz mini itx board if the capture card had 4 chips on it?
