Problems with pico 2000 card

Post by danielareas »

I'm having two problems with pico 2000 card: 1) one of the four channels is in Black&White, I've already swithched the cables to be ceirtain the problem wasn´t in the câmera. All other three channels are in color. I even traded the card for a new one thinking it had a defect, and nothing changed. 2) The capture of the images is too slow, after watching some streams of images, the site literally stops sayng it's loading, and nothing else happens. Can anybody help me? I´m running ZM on UBUNTU.

1)

edit your /etc/modprobe.conf

and at the bottom of the file put this line like your system (1 or 2 cards)

For one card:

options bttv card=77 tuner=-1 radio=0 triton1=0 vsfx=0 autoload=0
For two cards:

options bttv card=77,77 tuner=-1,-1 radio=0,0 triton1=0 vsfx=0 autoload=0

I'm 100% sure that your B&W problem on channel 2 will desapear ;)

2) About the slow movements, this damn card doesn't show more than 2.5 fps. Also set ZM to show as jpg instead mpeg and jpg quality to 50% it will solve all your problems.

Taz

ps: i'll send you the Bill later :P

'Montage' does´t work with PICO 2000

Post by danielareas »

Can any body help me?

I did these configurations to get my PICO 2000 board working properly:

1) edit /etc/modprobe.conf
and at the bottom of the file put this line like your system (1 or 2 cards)

For one card:

options bttv card=77 tuner=-1 radio=0 triton1=0 vsfx=0 autoload=0
For two cards:

options bttv card=77,77 tuner=-1,-1 radio=0,0 triton1=0 vsfx=0 autoload=0

2) About the slow movements, this damn card doesn't show more than 2.5 fps. Also set ZM to show as jpg instead mpeg and jpg quality to 50% .

-------------------

The problem is that, when I go to 'Montage' Mode, I can't get the application to show me all four streams at the same time. Am I doing something wrong? Am I wsing wrong drivers? These streams are too slow!!! I'm woried because this is happening with only four channels, I'm affraid of whats going to happen with 16 channels.

Are you using FireFox web browser to view ZM? Can you view each channel independently? If so you'll probably have to make some adjustments to your Firefox browser. Google will help you on this one.

Montage too slow.

Post by danielareas »

So it turns de montage screen into an useless option in the zm system?
Because I see a lot of users interested in monitoring all cameras at the same time, there should be other way too improove the speed of these image streams?

no it is not a useless option, its a problem with firefox where some settings can be changed to fix it in firefox. ie with cambazola doesnt have the problem.
re the framerate if your using a single chip card then this is what happens. If you want more framerate buy a better card.

Okay, here is the link
http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.ph ... FireFox.3F
or search for "firefox browser cache"
Does that help

Sorry, had 30 people on my back at the time, so was an attempt to be short and sweet, but may not so sweet looking back.

I'm still having a problem with the pico 2000 card. Channel 3 is in color now, but it doesn´t detect any events. Did I forget to configure anything?

I did these configurations to get my PICO 2000 board working properly:

1) edit /etc/modprobe.conf

I have this card and am having great difficult in getting it to work! Lots of searching on this forum and on the wiki indicates I need to edit /etc/modprobe.conf
Why do I not have this file?!

I installed on Ubuntu using http://www.zoneminder.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_7.04

Any ideas?

Thanks.
