Hi,
I'm new to Linux and Zoneminder.
I built a zoneminder LiveCD box and got everything working great.
I installed the LiveCD on a VMware server and my ip cameras work fine but I cannot figure out how to get zoneminder/Linux to recognize my capture card.
Has anyone tried using a capture card with a VMware build?
Am I missing something.

Well, your virtual PC must be able to have a virtual capture card, that eventually should connect to your real capture card.

I have not had any joy getting VMWare to expose the capture cards to the virtual machine. However I am no vmware expert. All I could suggest is either using a zmc/zms combo on the host machine and accessing them over ip or writing your own small daemon to do the same job.

That is what I ended up doing. Not very elegant, but it works.
