Recomended PC for installed mandriva live CD

Hi. I'm buiding a Mandriva LiveCD based Zoneminder Server, it will manage around 10 cameras, each one recording continuously 12 hours/day, at 640x480 and color, but with no motion detection, it will be on record mode.

The axis cameras will do the motion detection, so, when it happens, it will change the monitor from Nodect from Record mode.

What computer do you recomend to me to not struggle the PC itself?

Thanks!

I would love to see the coding you did to make this possible.

Well, that could be difficult. Independly, what computer would you recomend to me in my case? (12 hours/day, 10 axis camera, 640x480 color)

Thanks.

P.D: Respect to what I want to do, let's discuss what alternatives we have. The final purpose of that is to avoid Zoneminder to analyse continously a monitor, to save CPU. If I force an alarm externaly (with a trigger) using a monitor on Monitor mode (with no analysis) I think it could be possible.

What do you think?

It could be a useful idea for everyone with a lot of Axis Cameras (or any with linux embebbed) because you can do a nice installation with a cheaper PC than a installation with a PC which analyses continously every monitor: it would be a more expensive PC.

if your using the cams to do the motion detectoin then the load will fully depennd on what motion you have, if only 1 cam is ever in alarm then an old pentium 2 would be fine.
But id go for a reasonably powerful athlon 64 dual core or pentuim core duo

half a gig to a gig of ram and hd space to suit
