How about a sticky thread under Hardware Compatibility for Zoneminder success stories?
Each user could post a summary of there working system(s), which could be used as a reference to populate the Wiki. Stable systems only, please.
Say...
System/Motherboard
CPU
RAM
Distro
Zoneminder Version
Capture Card(s)/Settings/Purchase Source/Cost/Framerates
Cameras/Manufacturers/Costs/Resolution
A suggestion...
Point taken
I guess I was looking for something a bit more structured towards complete systems, as opposed to individual pieces of hardware.
Example:
In my case...
Zoneminder 1.21 Live CD
Dell 2400 2.3GHZ Celeron
Intel chipset
1GB RAM
3 x Hauppauge ImpactVCB
4 x BW Cameras at 640x480
2 x Color Cameras at 640x480
Good system performance when running...
5 x 640x480 Modect
1 x 640x480 Monitor
Alternatively, what about a section in the Wiki.
Again, just a suggestion.

OK I use an ASUS sk8v, fx-53 and PATA drives and
Intel desktop borads with i945 chipsets and sata drives. I have learnt to avoid any sis or via chipset. Also avoid brand new chipsets as this may cause sata issues.

Yes, I guess the Wiki is a better place for this, as I would already like to go back and add more detail about issues I've encountered with various pieces of my system.
I'm not quite sure how to organize this though.
Say under, "Contents/Supported Hardware/Working Systems".
But what would make a good descriptive title for each entry?
Suggestions?

First I'd take a look at some of the distros supported hardware list (as they would be the same for each release as the list you want to create here). You would most likely have to categorize it by Distro and Release or by hardware and what Distro/Release works with it. The alliterative that would be simple to manage would be by vanilla kernel versions but this will not cover any extra goodies that the Distros might add.

Linux Hardware Compatibility List
This should made it easy and a much better resource than building one here.
