Black Monitors until I run XAWTV

Post by startrk »

Hello,

I have a PV-149 card from bluecherry with a P4 2.6GHz computer that when I reboot all the monitors are black until I run xawtv. Then the monitors start displaying correctly. When I was running Ubuntu the monitors came up just fine but I reinstalled with Debian and now this issue comes up. Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

I have the same problem which I described here (accidently put it in the wrong forum), except I'm using tvtime to achieve the same result.

I went through what was discussed in your link cordel but all the permissions seem to be correct for me. I'd appreciate any other hints anyone may have.

I have the same permissions setup at the link as well. It seems to be that in Debian the bttv card tries to come up in PAL and won't work until you manually change it back to NTSC in xawtv. Is there a setting for this on the modprobe level. Why does Ubuntu work without xawtv. Thanks for all your time.
