Just recently we bought a business and received the security system with the purchase. The system is using zone minder with 5- 6 cameras.

While looking at the system I noticed there has not been any recording since February of this year. When someone walks in front of a camera, you can export stills of the event, but you cant playback any video of the event. I need help drastically! I know little to nothing about the installation of this system, but can provide any information needed to help figure out why this isn't recording properly. PLEASE HELP! THANKS!

Zoneminder captures a bunch of still images and stitches them together to create a mjpeg video. If you just want to watch the event you should be able to click on the event id and watch a video of it. If you want to create a video to pull off the box then their should be a video link on the top right of the mjpeg clip playing. If creating video does not work then you probably need to get ffmpeg working.

From the main view what is the function set for your cameras? on the top right what percent is the disk at?

Hey, thanks very much for the reply.

My cameras are set to (MODETECT) and the disk space is at 89%.

I noticed that the disk space doesnt ever change. Also, you mentioned watching the video by opening the event and just "watching it". But, when I try to do that it shows that it is actually playing but there is no video being displayed. Thanks, Nick-

Also, When I click stills, I have no stills that pop up. But I can export stills if I choose to. And when I click updated "new events" there is no time for the events or any frames.

If you are using IE to view it, and cambozola is not installed, you will not get motion images. Try Firefox to make sure the problem is ZM and not your client system.

Hey everyone,

Due to the Technical Expertise of Allan from Wilson Support Services, my Camera system is now fixed!! What happened was the Linux system needed repaired and the cameras were stuck in ALARM mode constantly and they weren't recording. This is the command I used to auto repair my system for anyone that may need it : mysqlcheck --all - databases --auto-repair

than to shut down and
force a reboot this was used : /sbin/shutdown -r -f now

Thanks again Allan for all your help!! And Thanks for taking the time out of your day! Anyone needing help with their system should contact Allan!
