PV-183 vs. CV-SDC880...?

Post by nakedfarmanimals »

I am looking to build a system with 5-8 cameras, and luckily stumbled on bluecherry.net. I am trying to decide between the PV-183 (8 port video, 8 port audio, 240FPS) and the CV-SDC880 (8 port video, 240FPS, no audio.)

Has anyone used both, or is there any strong opinion / consensus on a leader? From what I understand, the audio is not yet supported, but might it be worth the $60 premium? Any known differences in quality? Any stories / insights / original poetry?

If this has already been hashed out, please feel free to point me to the thread. A few well-thought out searches did not get me there...

Thanks in advance.

PS - If I record audio, am I potentially exposed for wiretapping charges on my private property?

PPS - Are there any "don't go there" video cards for ZoneMinder?

Beuller is really sick and we think he might die, cancer or something

I have neither of this cards but have helped others with the pv-183. The other card I have not even worked with. In short I know the pv-183 works but vs the other I could not say.

I decided on the PV-183. I should be getting it and 2 cameras in the post this evening, and doing the configuration / testing this evening.

I will start a separate thread / post stream with results, including (hopefully!) test images!

Woohoo!
