Hello,

Yesterday I went to PC World. Then I found there M&S USB Missile launcher. I had an idea to prepare PTZ with this device. :-) So I bought one piece for 30 EUR then I mount it via USB to linux box. Fortunatelly there is a couple of drivers for this - if you have a problem just drop me a line here. I have mounted EyeToy PS2 USB camera on it, prepared PTZ script and it's working perfectly ! :-]

This device is operating in 180 deg. horizontal and approx 45 in vertical which is really enough for me.

I'm able to shoot even via webpage by pressing reset button ! :-) I'm thinking about a nice trigger if there is a motion detected in my room ;>>

Here is the picture of this device:

You can find more pictures here:

Here how it looks like from camera point of view:

Please let me know if you have different ideas for cheapest PTZ solution that is working :)

Greetings,
Greko

That is AWESOME! I love simple solutions, and that is just elegant. (In an 50's skunkworks sort of way)

Indeed totally cool. I knew this item but completely forgot about it.

Can this be used out of the box with zoneminder (and using the linux driver provided for it) ?
